$1,000 Detection Guarantee
If another ITDR alerts you to a real compromise before we do, or Petra misses it altogether, we’ll pay you $1,000.
Every ITDR says its detection is the best. We’d rather show you: run a Petra Scan to see what we catch in your own environment. And now, with our Detection Guarantee, you get paid if we’re wrong.
Valid through October 15, 2026. See FAQs and rules.
FAQ & Rules
Welcome to Petra’s Detection Guarantee! Participation is subject to the rules and conditions below and our Terms of Service.
What is the Detection Guarantee?
We are so confident in Petra’s speed that we will pay you $1,000 USD if another identity threat detection and response (ITDR) product on the same Microsoft 365 tenant alerts you to a real compromise before Petra does.
Is there a cap?
There is no cap on how many times you can be paid, and every affected identity in every tenant is its own incident. We are not hedging the number because we do not expect to pay it.
When does the offer apply?
The Guarantee is open to qualifying incidents that occur through October 15, 2026.
How do I qualify to participate?
You are eligible if you are an MSP in an active trial with Petra, and you manage the affected tenant. You also need:
- Active deployment. Petra deployed, connected, and through initial onboarding, at least 48 hours, on the affected tenant.
- A competing product. At least one other commercial ITDR running on that same tenant over the same period.
Test accounts are not eligible.
What counts as a “Qualifying Incident”?
A real identity compromise in your Microsoft 365 tenant: credential theft, session token hijacking, malicious OAuth app consent, or unauthorized MFA registration, among others. What does not count is anything that was not a real compromise: false positives, policy violations, benign activity including benign VPN use, or scheduled penetration tests and red-team exercises, unless we have approved them in writing beforehand.
How is “First” determined?
We compare when each product actually sent its alert, whether by email, webhook, ticketing integration, or app notification, measured to the second in UTC. We hold ourselves to the same standard we hold everyone else. If the competing product’s alert went out even one second before ours, or if Petra never alerted on the incident at all, the claim is yours.
The alert has to be about the actual compromise. An alert on an earlier failed or unsuccessful sign-in does not count, even if the same attacker later succeeds; we compare only the alerts that flagged the real compromise.
A raw log entry, an internal risk score that never became a real notification, or a dashboard summary is not an alert.
What happens if Petra never alerted at all?
When a claim rests on an incident we stayed silent on that another ITDR alerted on, we will review the claim to determine whether it is a real compromise. If we believe it was a false positive, our SOC team will provide you with a justification as to why.
How do I submit a claim?
- Timing: Submit your claim within 10 calendar days of the competing product’s alert timestamp.
- Where to send:Email your Petra representative with a reference to the “$1K Detection Guarantee.”
- What to include:
- Your company name.
- The Microsoft 365 tenant ID and affected user principal name (UPN).
- The competing product’s send record: the notification email with full headers (Date and Received), webhook delivery logs, or a vendor console export showing the exact dispatch time and time zone.
How and when do we get paid?
- Payout timing: Verified claims are paid within 30 days of verification.
- Method: Paid via cash (ACH or check).
- No caps: There is no limit to how many times you can be paid. Every compromised identity in every tenant counts as its own separate incident and its own $1,000 payment.
Termination
Petra may modify, suspend, or terminate the Guarantee at any time, for any reason, with or without notice (this will not affect payments that accrue prior to termination).
Disclaimer
The Guarantee is a promotional offer, not an insurance product, a warranty, a service-level commitment, or a guarantee of detection, prevention, or security outcome. Petra backs our detection speed with money because we are confident, but this is not a promise that Petra will detect every compromise or will always be first.
The Final Word
This program is a courtesy to our potential partners. All determinations as to whether the criteria above have been met, and whether a payment is owed, will be made by Petra in its sole and absolute discretion. While you can request a single written re-review with additional evidence if a claim is denied, Petra’s final determination on claims under this program is final and binding.
